DEC Contracting Group, Inc. was hired for the historical refurbishment of five cabins, a pavilion and a latrine building located in the Myakka River State Park. One of the most difficult aspects of the project was raising the cabins six feet in the air without doing any damage to the foundations, structure, or the existing finishes. DEC Contracting Group, Inc. Was the General Contractor on the Lee County Scale House No. 2 Fleet Building Addition & Alterations. Construction activities were performed during regular work hours, off hours, and weekends without any disruption to normal daily operations. One of the highlights of this project was constructing a 130-foot free spanning arched roof structure with standing seam metal roof panels, covering both the existing and new scale houses including all inbound and outbound lanes providing much needed shelter for the facility operators and truck drivers.
